w-Para Bhairava Hrdaya: Non-Dual Shaivism: In Theory and Practice
This page/price for booksellers ONLY.
Monistic Shaivism, with its roots deeply embedded in the soil of India’s spiritual heritage, offers a vision of reality that transcends the ordinary. At its core, it teaches the unity of the self (atman) with the ultimate reality (Shiva), a state of consciousness where the individual self merges with the divine cosmic essence. Yet, behind its philosophical grandeur lies a realm of practices and doctrines often shrouded in secrecy, passed down through generations of devoted practitioners.
About the Author
Dr. Iyer is a medical doctor and a practicing surgeon. He is a priest of the Shrauta smartha lineage, representing the philosophical school of non dual vedanta (advaita vedanta).
When Dr. Iyer was 17, he started with a modality of tantra where Bhairava and Kali are worshipped. At this time, he also began working within the South Indian version of sri chakra practices to realize his true divine nature.
In 2011, he found his mentor in a tradition that was passed from mentor to disciple, the mentor only teaching one or two students in a lifetime. Shreeram’s mentor requested he write a series starting with tantra from scratch, expanding the concepts of the different modalities and what they represent.
Dr. Iyer is learned in Sanskrit, has firsthand access to rare spiritual works in museums and is familiar with the theories and practices of Western Occultism. His skillfully clear and well-ordered writing style provides the reader with access to deep spiritual knowledge and practices that have never before been made available in the West in unaltered or unadulterated form.
